Dislikes: The long arm of the Law.

  Barbarian

Height: 6 ft 2 in
Weight: 235 lbs
Varieties: Level 7
Level 8
Locations: The Barbarian Village
Appearance: Muscle-clad bearded warriors
Way of Life: Self-sufficient. Having plundered and pillaged in the tribal warfare of days gone by, some contemporary barbarians have now dropped anchor with settlements of their own. Remaining relatively neutral, they could be a useful force indeed if anyone could tempt them into an alliance...
Likes: Wood-chopping
Dislikes: Anyone who uses magic in battle

  Bear

Height: 5 ft (8ft at full stretch)
Weight: 600 lbs
Varieties: Level 19
Level 21
Locations: Bears like to roam the forests

Likes: Hibernating
Dislikes: Fur-lined jackets

  Black Dragon

Height: 32 ft long
Weight: See Red Dragon
Varieties: Level 227
Locations: Taverley Dungeon
These awesome destroyers can usually be identified by the large pile of human bones that tend to surround them
Appearance: Jet black. That reddy-orange tint is actually just an optical illusion, because one is normally viewing them through a torrent of flames
Way of Life: King-like
Likes: Their long-held supremacy, which is now waning
Dislikes: The non-stop nature of evolution itself ...as shown by the recent emergence of the King Black Dragon

  Black Knight

Height: 6 ft on the nose
Weight: 200 lbs exactly: robust but fighting fit
Varieties: Level 33
Locations: Black Knight Fortress in the north, Taverley Dungeon, and the Lava Maze (wilderness)
Appearance: Large and foreboding, it is no wonder that these bad boys were once the talk of Runescape. And even now they continue to swing their weapons with the full weight of their illustrious history.
Way of Life: Educated and refined, these dashing villains like to unwind over a glass of mulled wine and Baxtorian poetry. They spit on peasants and refuse to pay taxes - but they still know how to treat a lady
Likes: Mulled wine and poetry. Remember this if ever you lack the motivation to decapitate someone
Dislikes: Peasants and taxes

  Blue Dragon

Height: 5 ft
Weight: 290 lbs
Varieties: Level 48
Level 111
Locations: Taverley Dungeon
Appearance: As their name suggests, these magnificent creatures can be identified by their distinctive sky blue appearance
Way of Life: The Blue Dragons guard the early stages of Taverley Dungeon. A beautiful yet fearsome creature, these guardians are but a taste of things to come
Likes: The tranquility of Taverley Lake. But prized for their flesh, these beasts now take refuge in the dungeon, where would-be attackers must fight the dragon on his own terms

Appearance: They dress in the distinctive blood red robes of Zamorak
Way of Life: Masters of herblore, their friendly demeanour belies a dangerous knowledge of the dark arts
Likes: Using runestones as a source of darkness
Dislikes: Religious factions. As Chaos Druids, they have links with both Guthix and Zamorak. Being something of an unknown quantity, the chaos druids could be the ones to tip the balance in a major struggle

  Chaos Druid Warrior

Height: 5 ft 10 in
Weight: 180 lbs
Varieties: Level 37
Locations: Yanille Dungeon
Appearance: See Chaos Druid.
But with more armour and weaponry.
Way of Life: A more bloodthirsty version of the Chaos Druids - rumours say all their solitude has driven them insane with bloodlust
Likes: The thrill of victory
Dislikes: The agony of defeat

  Chaos Dwarf

Height: 4 ft 3 in.
Weight: 220 lbs
Varieties: Level 48
Locations: Chaos dwarves can be found in dungeons and the wilderness
Appearance: Slightly heftier than their good ancestors, these dwarves clearly have an appetite for destruction. But more remarkable is their reddish hue, a clear sign of their beserker tendencies
Way of Life: Homicidal. It is believed that the chaos dwarves have been touched by Zamorak himself
Likes: Slamming an axe in your face
Dislikes: Polite conversation

  Chicken

Height: 12 in

  Cow

Height: 5 ft 10 in.
Weight: 1,500 lbs
Varieties: Level 2
Locations: Enclosures north of Lumbridge, and near crafting guild
Appearance: Beefy
Way of Life: Passive. Rumours about cows being armed to the teeth proved false. However, their hides are often used by people to make leather goods
Likes: Vegetarians
Dislikes: Comments about their sanity

Dark Warrior
Height: 5 ft 10 in
Weight: 200 lbs
Varieties: Level 8
Locations: The Wilderness
Appearance: Well-armed
Way of Life: Mercenary.
Dark warriors do not enjoy the same status as Dark wizards or Dark knights, so they tend to hang around in small groups of like-minded individuals
Likes: To stay one step ahead of the authorities
Dislikes: Other followers of Zamorak.
Despite their shared allegiance, the Dark warriors prefer to keep themselves to themselves. Bear this in mind if you plan on disturbing them

  Dark Wizard

Height: 5 ft 8 in
Weight: 160 lbs
Varieties: Level 7
Level 20
Locations: Dark Wizards' Tower; the Stone Circle south of Varrock; the Wilderness
Appearance: Like the wizard. Only darker
Way of Life: Machiavellian: Dark Wizards will do anything to further the cause of Zamorak.
And if that means burning many of their own number in the Wizards' Tower, then so be it
Likes: Treachery. For all their dark arts, it is ultimately their ability to deceive their fellow man that makes them so dangerous
Dislikes: People who think that they can't be trusted.
The fact is that the incident with the Wizards' Tower was a one-off, and it'll never happen again. Surely you of all people could find it in your heart to give them a second chance?

  Deadly Red Spider

Height: 25 in
Weight: 15 lbs
Varieties: Level 31
Locations: Karamja Volcano, Varrock Sewers
Appearance: Red
Way of Life: Predatorial.
But this is a two way process, as anyone trained in the art of apothecary knows that the Deadly Red Spider's eggs can be used to make a potent strength potion
Likes: Closing in for the kill. Dispensing with the usual small-talk, The Deadly Red Spider goes straight for the jugular
Dislikes: The whole "which is better, red or green?" debate

  Druid

Height: 5 ft 8 in
Weight: 160 lbs
Varieties: Level 33
Locations: The Druid Circle and the Druid Village
Appearance: Dressed in gleaming white robes, you could be forgiven for forgetting that the druids are in fact neutral
Way of Life: It is said that the druids may have used the runestones, long before the mages of the East discovered them. But the druids are a solitary lot, and as their numbers dwindle it is feared that their secrets may die with them
Likes: Making potions, using their herblore abilities.
Druids also rely on the power of the runestone, which may be the unifying factor behind all that is seen and unseen
Dislikes: Socialising.
Their reluctance to mix with other has alienated them from all those who are suspicious of druid rituals- from townsfolk to the followers of Saradomin

  Dungeon Rat

Height: Approx 1 ft long
Weight: 40 lbs
Varieties: Level 12
Locations: Under Clock Tower
Appearance: Ratty
Way of Life: A very sociable creature (to other rats anyway), rats tend to be found in large groups in areas with a lot of refuse, as they dont like to try too hard to find their food.
Likes: Recycling - mainly wasted food and corpses into Rat droppings.

Weight: 200 lbs
Varieties: Level 9
Level 10
Level 20
Locations: In and around the Ice Mountain
Appearance: Short and stout
Way of Life: Moody and dour.
Though not very religious, dwarves show their respects to Guthix, the source of the iron ore which they mine so diligently
Likes: Difficult to say, since nothing seems to put them in a good mood.
But they are at least less grumpy when they're making things
Dislikes: Some say that dwarves just don't like people, but this does not account for all the other races that irritate them. Their bark is worse than their bite, however

Earth Warrior
Height: 6 ft 1in
Weight: 260 lbs
Varieties: Level 45
Level 47
Locations: Edgeville Dungeon
Appearance: Men made of earth
Way of Life: Nobody is sure where they came from, or what they do for fun.
Other than attacking players that is.
Likes: Nobody has ever been around them long enough to find out
Dislikes: Becoming muddy. This means something entirely different for Earth Warriors.

Farmer
Height: 5 ft 10 in
Weight: 180 lbs
Varieties: Level 7
Locations: Farmers turn up on farms and near windmills throughout Runescape
Appearance: Human
Way of Life: Despite their subsistence lifestyle, farmers are surprisingly affluent, and have even been known to horde valuable runestones.
Could they be the missing link to the ancient mystery of the druids?
It seems unlikely
Likes: A cooked breakfast
Dislikes: Trespassers walking on their land

  Forester

Height: 5 ft 10 in
Weight: 180 lbs
Varieties: Level 15
Locations: McGrubor's Wood

Dislikes: Being attacked for easy experience

Ghost
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Varieties: Level 19
Level 24

Likes: Personal space- as found in dungeons and the wilderness
Dislikes: Anyone who gets under their feet

  Giant Bat

Height: Quite high off the ground
Weight: 30 lbs
Varieties: Level 27
Locations: Outside Morgan le Faye Castle and in Taverley Dungeon
Appearance: Large winged vermin- to the untrained eye these things are basically rats with wings
Way of Life: Annoying.
Giant bats will make a point of flapping in your face (no, I said "flapping") just when you're trying to do the crucial part of a quest. You'd happily kill the whole jolly lot of them, if only you could be bothered
Likes: Caves and dungeons
Dislikes: Sitting still

  Giant Rat

Likes: Gnomes like to stick together, forming tight-knit communities under the rule of a gnome king
Dislikes: The Runescape annual basketball tournament. So they play gnomeball instead

Level 13 (spear)
Locations: Goblins are common right across Runescape, and particularly in the goblin village of north Asgarnia; around Lumbridge, and the woods near Port Sarim

Dislikes: Complex mental challenges

  Greater Demon

Height: 8ft 6in
Weight: 350 lbs
Varieties: Level 92
Locations: Entrana, Lava Maze (underground), ruins in (north-east) wilderness.
Appearance: As Zamorak's representative on Runescape, these demons are immediately recognisable by their capacity to kill you in a matter of seconds. And with the Greater Demon, what you see is what you get
Way of Life: Not known
Likes: Being master of all that they survey
Dislikes: Cowards.
If you go to fight a Greater Demon, don't run away or retreat. You'll still get killed, but at least he'll respect you more that way

  Grey Wolf

Height: Up to 7ft long
Weight: 230 lbs
Varieties: Level 64
Locations: The Wilderness
Appearance: Like a Guard Dogs' meaner, crazier, and more bloodthirsty uncle.
Way of Life: There are many people who claim the wolfs' reputation as a killer is undeserved, and that they rarely attack humans. Those people have never encountered a hungry pack of grey wolves.
To the Grey Wolf, everything else is either dinner or potential dinner.
Likes: Running in packs looking for food.
Dislikes: Being called a Bad Dog.

  Guard

Height: 5 ft 10in
Weight: 220 lbs
Varieties: Level 21
Level 22
Locations: Throughout the towns, wherever things may need guarding, especially gates and banks
Appearance: Stout and intimidating, these guards give the distinct impression that they will not be open to negotation
Way of Life: Inflexible.
If a guard has been told not to let people past, he'll keep that entrance blocked come hell or high water. But if you just want to beat up some old man a few yards away, he'll conveniently turn a blind eye. It's just not his job to care
Likes: Maintaining order
Dislikes: The smell of corruption that seems to surround their pay masters- from local town councillors, right up to the top of the ladder

  Guard Dog

Height: 6 ft long
Weight: 170 lbs
Varieties: Level 44
Locations: Brimhaven, Ardougne, McGrubor's Wood
Appearance: Goes for the standard, no-nonsense guard-dog look
Way of Life: Limited. These animals do nothing for the claim that a dog is a man's best friend.
Unless your idea of a best friend is someone who rips your limbs off with their teeth
Likes: Barking at intruders
Dislikes: Cats

Hellhound
Height: A whopping 9 ft long at full stretch
Weight: 280 lbs

Dislikes: Being killed.
Although this is pretty rare

  Hero

Height: 6ft 2in
Weight: 205 lbs
Varieties: Level 69
Locations: Hero's can be found in the cosmopolitan city of Ardougne, secretly hoping for some injustice to be perpetrated so that they can pounce to the rescue
Appearance: With perfect abs and a well-chiselled jaw line, these All-Runescapian Heroes make you want to up your levels. If only so that you can do something to wipe that smug smile off their face
Way of Life: Heroic
Likes: A challenge
Dislikes: Laziness- and particularly those parasites who would beg for "free stuff". Any hero worth his salt would strike down those freeloaders in a Runescape minute - were it not for the recent law that was passed to prevent the recreational execution of beggars

  Highwayman

Height: 6 ft
Weight: 200 lbs
Varieties: Level 5
Locations: At major junctions: south of Draynor manor, and between Rimmington and Falador
Appearance: Stylish, cape-wearing human
Way of Life: Legendary. The highwayman is elegant and dashing: the thinking man's mugger.
Although that isn't usually much consolation when he nicks your valuables
Likes: To prey on unsuspecting travellers, especially tourists
Dislikes: The idea that he should travel on a horse...
This can only be a myth

  Hobgoblin

Height: 5 ft 8 in
Weight: 200 lbs
Varieties: Level 28
Level 42 (spear)
Locations: Hobgoblins can be found in the wilderness dungeons and the peninsula behind the crafting guild
Appearance: Larger than their goblin ancestors, Hobgoblins are stronger, but even more slow witted
Way of Life: If goblins are semi-civilised then hob-goblins are downright uncivilised. They attack indiscriminately, which does at least show a degree of fairness
Likes: To carry limpwurt roots to chew on and keep their teeth sharp. This is to help them devour opponents, rather than any real interest in personal hygiene
Dislikes: Comments about their appearance

Ice Spider
Height: 12 in
Weight: 25 lbs
Varieties: Level 61
Locations: White Wolf Mountain, Wilderness ice plateau
Appearance: Icy
Way of Life: These battle-hardened arachnids represent the price of admission for many hardcore Runescapers.
Likes: Their inhospitable terrain, which gives them an immediate homefield advantage in any combat situation
Dislikes: Non-members who attempt to stray into the members' area. The non-members' inability to access this area deprives the ice spiders of a tasty snack

  Ice Warrior

Height: Varies
Weight: Unknown
Varieties: Level 57
Locations: Ice Giant's Cave, White Wolf Mountain dungeon, wilderness
Appearance: Like men made of ice
Way of Life: Mysterious
Likes: The question "Do you want ice with that?" where "that" refers to an pick-axe that is then embedded in some smart-alec's head
Dislikes: Smart-alecs (see above)

  Imp

Height: 10 in
Weight: 15 lbs
Varieties: Level 2
Locations: Imps have an annoying habit of turning up everywhere
Appearance: Small, with a distinctively bright red colour to them. Combine this with their cheeky impishness, and it's easy to see why some think of them as "little devils"
Way of Life: Opportunistic. Imps love to steal little items, such as wool, beads, food and hats
Likes: Running away just when you're about to kill them
Dislikes: People who confuse them with party hats

Jail Guard
Height: 5 ft 9in
Weight: 210 lbs
Varieties: Level 26
Locations: South of Draynor Village
Appearance: Greasy and unkempt, these jailers are still part of the human race- but only just
Way of Life: Disturbing. These jailers take a malicious pleasure in the incarceration of their prisoners. In some ways they are as evil as the Dark Knights, although some say that the jailers come from a more limited gene pool
Likes: Doing their master's dirty work
Dislikes: Wise-cracking jailbirds, who usually get their better of their slow-witted captors

  Jogre

Height: 7 ft
Weight: 300 lbs
Varieties: Level 48
Locations: The "jogre" or jungle ogre is frequently found in South Karamja, usually grouped together in clusters
Appearance: Large and green skinned
Way of Life: The jungle ogre is well camouflaged for life in jungle territories and often benefits from the element of surprise
Likes: Games of hide and seek with humans, who didn't know that they were playing until the jogre attacks
Dislikes: The assumption that they are just green skinned ogres. This prompts them to attack

  Jungle Spider

Height: 25 in
Weight: 15 lbs
Varieties: Level 42
Locations: Karamja Jungle
Appearance: Green and hairy
Way of Life: Sneaky. Perfectly camouflaged for the overgrown terrain, if you can't actually see a jungle spider it's probably because there's one looking right at you
Likes: Lurking in the jungle
Dislikes: Players who complain because their "best friends" paid less for a party hat.
These scrooges can look forward to a slow death on the web

King Black Dragon
Height: 40 ft long
Weight: How long is a piece of string? How heavy is a rock? What about a rock hard Dragon? We'll let you ask him
Varieties: level 276
Locations: Dwelling somewhere in the wilderness, this dragon is blatantly the biggest baddest mother (or father) in all of Runescape... so far.
Appearance: Looks like Trouble!
Way of Life: There are many different philosophies in RS, but the KBD subscribes to what we might call "existentialism"- the philosophy of doing whatever the heck you want
Likes: You, your friends, your family and even that other PKer you just met
Dislikes: You, your friends, your family and even that other PKer you just met

  Knight Of Ardougne

Height: Height: 6ft 1in
Weight: 220 lbs
Varieties: Level 46
Locations: City Of Ardougne
Appearance: Human... underneath all the armour.
Way of Life: Becoming a Knight has long been a favoured career choice for Ardougne's strongest and bravest young men, with their shiny armour and adherence to the rules of chivalry gaining them a certain reputation with the ladies.
Likes: Testing their prowess against each other in jousting duels for ladies handkerchiefs.
Dislikes: People who ignore their carefully constructed rules of chivalry

Lesser Demon
Height: 8ft 3in
Weight: 320 lbs
Varieties: Level 82
Locations: Karamja, Melzar's Maze, Lava Maze, Wizard's Tower, Crandor
Appearance: Red and horned
Way of Life: Zamorakian
Likes: Cocky young upstarts
Dislikes: The term "lesser".
A long and protracted legal battle resulted in several council members getting flame-grilled

Man
Height: 5 ft 10in
Weight: 175 lbs
Varieties: Level 2 (generic man)
Locations: Humans are currently the dominant species on Runescape
Appearance: Human
Way of Life: Humans are certainly quite advanced creatures, building large communities and various labour-saving devices.
Whether they are exactly "civilised", however, is more open for debate...
Likes: Dark suits
Dislikes: Being attacked by players trying to up their levels.
This is where the phrase "Why does everything always happen to me?" comes from

  Magic Axe

Height: 1.5 ft
Weight: 80 lbs
Varieties: Level 42
Locations: Taverley Dungeon
Appearance: Large sharp axe. That flies
Way of Life: Little is known about these weapons, or how they came about.
Some people claim they are the unforeseen side effect of lazy Mages who didnt want to chop down their own trees just to cook dinner; others claim they are a secret weapon developed by Zamorakian followers to create havoc and destruction.
Everyone agrees they hurt when they hit you.
Likes: Separating you from your limbs.
Dislikes: Getting rusty.

  Monk

Height: 6 ft
Weight: 180 lbs
Varieties: Level 3
Level 5

Likes: Saradomin
Dislikes: Zamorak

  Monk of Zamorak

Height: 6 ft
Weight: 180 lbs
Varieties: Level 22
Level 45
Locations: Lower level monks dwell in the Chaos Temple of north Asgarnia; higher level monks can also be found in Taverley Dungeon
Appearance: Level 45 monks adorn themselves with the blood red robes of Zamorak
Way of Life: Ungodly- at least as far as Saradomin is concerned. These monks have perverted His sacred rituals, and corrupted them to please their own hellish master. But don't fall prey to crusader zeal- many a Saradominist has rushed headlong into Taverley Dungeon, never to be seen again
Likes: Zamorak
Dislikes: Saradomin

  Mountain Dwarf

Height: 4ft 2in
Weight: 200 lbs
Varieties: level 20

Way of Life: Secluded. These dwarves are happy just to be left to their own devices. They love nothing better than mining for ore and generally being at one with nature
Likes: The cool mountain air
Dislikes: Elves and horses

  Mugger

Height: 5 ft 10 in
Weight: 160 lbs
Varieties: Level 6
Locations: Varrock castle
Appearance: Shifty looking
Way of Life: The mugger is at the low-rent end of the mercerary lifestyle. With no real skill to his name, the mugger can never be sure that he will be able to rob you.
But he'll certainly have a really good try- and you have to respect him for that
Likes: Weaklings
Dislikes: Thieves. Muggers are envious of these more skilled criminals

Necromancer
Height: 5 ft 11in
Weight: 175 lbs
Varieties: Level 29
Locations: Near the City of Ardougne
Appearance: Necromancers are usually easily spotted by their pallid complexions, hatred of sunlight and strange smell of embalming fluids. They also tend to wear red with skull ornaments a lot.
Way of Life: Have an unhealthy obsession with death.
Unhealthy for players who encounter them who are not able to defeat large numbers of zombies anyway.
Likes: Adding new zombies to their growing armies of the undead.
Dislikes: Sunshine and cute furry animals

Ogre
Height: 7 ft
Weight: 300 lbs
Varieties: Level 48 Level 53 Level 55 Level 60 Level 70 Level 74
Locations: Small numbers in Kandarin, although they have mostly been wiped out or captured by humans. Large numbers are located in the lands known as the Feldip Hills or "Ogre Country" to the south of Kandarin
Appearance: Tall and muscular
Way of Life: Brown skinned ogres form tribes and are primitive in nature. They tend to lumber around in a world of their own. It may be that they are deep in thought. But this seems unlikely
Likes: Attacking people smaller than them
Dislikes: Being wiped out by humans

  Otherworldly Being

Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Varieties: Infinite
Locations: The otherworldly beings can be found in the Lost City of Zanaris. Wherever that is.
Appearance: Otherworldly. Although some say they look like a cross between a ghost and a witch
Way of Life: Nobody knows where they come from or why they do what they do...
Likes: Again, we don't really know this yet, but on face value these beings seem pretty happy just to be alive.
Is that something that they could teach us?
Dislikes: Being attacked by other beings who come from another world other than the one inhabited by the otherworldly being: e.g. people like you. Whatever the outcome, such mindless displays of violence can't be doing much for intergalactic relations

 Paladin
Height: 5ft 10in
Weight: 190 lbs
Varieties: Level 50
Level 53
Locations: Strutting around Ardougne, keeping a watchful eye from one day to the next
Appearance: Stout and robust looking, these holy warriors defy the ageing process by keeping themselves in great condition.
The barrel chests and firm biceps are just a bonus.
Way of Life: Challenging: when a man takes the holy vow of a Paladin, he makes a life-long commitment
Likes: To uphold the values of Saradomin at all costs:
"It is not that Saradominism has been tried and found wanting: it is that Saradominism has been tried and found difficult"
Dislikes: Pick-pockets in Ardougne. If this applies to you, just remember that their concept of mercy comes a definite second to their excellent swordsmanship

  Pirate

Height: 5 ft 9 in
Weight: 215 lbs
Varieties: Level 19
Level 20
Level 25
Locations: Pirates call Karamja their home, but some can also be found rooting around the Ice Giant cave
Appearance: Often seen sporting an eye-patch, pirates experience the highest rate of gouged eyes in Runescape
Way of Life: Hearty.
Pirates love eating, drinking and generally being merry. When it comes to having fun, nothing is too much expense- especially when they're spending your money!
Likes: Drinking
Dislikes: Being too far from the sea

  Poison Spider

Height: 12 in
Weight: 25 lbs
Varieties: Level 64
Locations: Taverley Dungeon, Lava Maze (wilderness)
Appearance: Vile, pus-squirting creatures that probably aren't going to win any best-looking spider awards any time soon
Way of Life: Hides in the undergrowth injecting smaller animals with venom for later consumption.
Likes: the death spasms of prey as they notice its bite too late
Dislikes: apothecaries

Red Dragon
Height: 30 ft long
Weight: The council tried to weigh one but she just wouldn't have it. We decided not to pursue the matter
Varieties: Level 152
Locations: The Dragon's spirit dictates that their environment will reflect their nature. The Baby Blue Dragon likes to reside close to peaceful Taverley Lake, the Red Dragon prefers the red hot magma of the lava lake
Appearance: As red as the RuneScape sun itself- and just as insistent!
Way of Life: Strolls around areas of the wilderness at leisure. Keeping Players at bay with her powerful Dragon Breath. You might want to take measures to protect yourself from this
Likes: So-called "Dragon Slayers". They generally fail
Dislikes: Actual "Dragon Slayers"

  Renegade Knights

Height: 6 ft 1in
Weight: 210 lbs
Varieties: Level 35
